








Trek Overview
The Dodital Trek is a mesmerizing journey through the dense forests and picturesque landscapes of Uttarakhand, leading to the pristine Dodital Lake, situated at an altitude of 3,310 meters. This trek is known for its breathtaking views, serene surroundings, and the mythological significance of Dodital, believed to be the birthplace of Lord Ganesha. The trail begins from the quaint village of Sangam Chatti and takes trekkers through scenic routes lined with oak, pine, and rhododendron forests, as well as charming meadows that offer spectacular vistas of the surrounding Himalayan peaks, including Bandarpoonch.
The trek is graded as easy to moderate, making it an excellent choice for both beginners and experienced trekkers. Along the way, trekkers can experience the peaceful ambiance of remote villages, interact with the local Himalayan communities, and witness the region’s rich flora and fauna, including rare Himalayan birds and wildlife. The final destination, Dodital Lake, is a crystal-clear freshwater lake with a sacred temple dedicated to Lord Ganesha on its shores, enhancing its spiritual charm.
The best time to embark on the Dodital Trek is from April to June and September to December. During these months, the weather is pleasant, the trails are adorned with lush greenery, and the skies are clear, offering uninterrupted views of the surrounding peaks. In winter, the trek transforms into a magical snow-covered wonderland, attracting adventure seekers who enjoy snow trekking. Detailed Itinerary
Day 01: Dehradun to Agoda Village
Distance: 158 km (6-7 hours drive)

Stay: Homestay in Agoda Village
Pick up from Dehradun Railway Station early in the morning (6 AM - 7 AM). The journey begins with a scenic drive through Mussoorie, a famous hill station known for its misty hills and colonial-era charm. We stop at Suwa Kholi for breakfast, where you can enjoy a warm meal while taking in the mountain views.
As we continue, we pass through charming villages like Almas and Rotu Ki Valley, known for their terraced fields and traditional wooden houses. Along the way, we get a glimpse of Tehri Lake, Asia’s highest dam reservoir, offering breathtaking views of its turquoise waters.
By afternoon, we reach Uttarkashi, a spiritual and trekking hub dotted with ancient temples and the sacred Bhagirathi River. After another drive through dense pine forests, we arrive at Agoda Village, where we stay in a cozy homestay surrounded by apple orchards and mountain views.
Day 02: Trek from Agoda Village to Manji Camp
Distance: 11 km (6-7 hours trek)
Altitude: 2,875 meters
Mode of Journey: On foot
Stay: Camping at Manji Camp
The trek starts with a gradual ascent through dense forests filled with oak and rhododendron trees. The fresh mountain air and chirping of birds make the journey enjoyable. After about two hours, we reach Bhebra Camp, a picturesque spot with wooden huts and a small stream flowing nearby. Here, we take a short break and enjoy refreshments.
Continuing along the trail, we walk through dense pine forests and meadows where you can spot Himalayan monals, the state bird of Uttarakhand. As we gain altitude, the views open up to reveal stunning mountain landscapes.
By late afternoon, we reach Manji Camp, a beautiful clearing in the forest with open grasslands. The evening is spent relaxing at the campsite, enjoying hot meals under a sky full of stars.
Day 03: Trek from Manji Camp to Dodital Camp
Distance: 6 km (3-4 hours trek)
Altitude: 3,024 meters
Mode of Journey: On foot
Stay: Camping near Dodital Lake
Today's trek is a relatively easy walk through lush green meadows and towering pine trees. The air gets cooler as we approach Dodital Lake, a pristine high-altitude freshwater lake surrounded by oak and deodar trees.
Dodital holds great mythological significance as it is believed to be the birthplace of Lord Ganesha. A small temple dedicated to Ganesha sits near the lake, where trekkers often offer prayers.
The lake is also home to brown trout fish, making it a paradise for nature lovers. In the evening, we relax by the lake, soaking in the serene atmosphere with reflections of snow-capped peaks shimmering in the water.
Day 04: Exploration Day - Trek to Darwa Top Summit
Distance: 10 km (6-7 hours round trip)
Altitude: 4,150 meters
Mode of Journey: On foot
Stay: Camping near Dodital Lake
After an early breakfast, we start our steep ascent towards Darwa Top, one of the most rewarding parts of the trek. The trail passes through rocky terrains, alpine meadows, and small waterfalls.
Upon reaching the summit, we are greeted with panoramic views of the snow-clad peaks of Bandarpoonch, Swargarohini, and the Dhauladhar range. The summit serves as a natural gateway to Hanuman Chatti and Yamunotri, offering breathtaking photo opportunities.
After spending time at the top, we descend back to Dodital Camp for a well-earned rest.
Day 05: Trek from Dodital to Bhebra Camp
Distance: 15 km (7-8 hours trek)
Altitude: 2,400 meters
Mode of Journey: On foot
Stay: Camping at Bhebra
We start our descent along the same scenic route, passing through the forests and meadows we trekked through before. The trail is easy and allows plenty of time to admire the surroundings.
At Bhebra Camp, we set up for our final night in the mountains. The evening is spent enjoying a bonfire, sharing trekking stories, and relishing a hearty meal before resting under the starlit sky.
Day 06: Trek from Bhebra to Agoda and Drive to Dehradun
Trek Distance: 8 km (2-3 hours trek)
Drive Distance: 158 km (7-8 hours drive)
Mode of Journey: On foot & by taxi
After breakfast, we trek downhill through the charming trails back to Agoda Village, enjoying the last glimpses of the Himalayan landscape. The descent is easy, allowing us to take in the beauty of the forests and streams.
Upon reaching the roadhead at Sangam Chatti, we board our vehicle for the drive back to Dehradun. The return journey is filled with memories of the adventure, as we pass through Uttarkashi and Mussoorie once again.
We reach Dehradun by late evening, marking the end of an unforgettable trek through the serene Himalayan wilderness.

Inclusions:
- Accommodation (Guest house, Home stay, Camping).
- Meals while on trek (Veg. + Egg).
- Trek equipment (Sleeping bag, mattress, kitchen & dining tent, crampon, utensils, tent).
- All necessary permits and entry fees.
- First aid medical kits, stretcher, and oxygen cylinder.
- Mountaineering qualified & professional trek leader, guide, and support staff.
Exclusions:
- Any kind of personal expenses.
- Food during the transit.
- Insurance.
- Mules or porter to carry personal luggage.
- Anything not specifically mentioned under the inclusions.
Cancellation & Refund Policy
Change/Cancellation of Booking by the Participant
Process
The cancellation process is completely automated. Please log in to your Mountain Hike account and follow the instructions on your dashboard. You can choose between Instant Refund or Cash Refund as per the policy below.
Replacement of Participants
Participants can be replaced through the Mountain Hike dashboard if the booking status is “Paid” and at least 5 days remain before departure. If you face issues, email themountainhike@gmail.com with a screenshot of the error. The new participant must submit a signed undertaking form.
Note: Any Volvo/Train transport booked for the original participant will be automatically canceled and is non-transferable.
Cash Refund Policy
Cash refunds apply only for bookings made without promotional codes or vouchers. Refund amounts will be deducted as follows:
- 30+ days before departure: 5% deduction
- 15-30 days before departure: 50% deduction
- Less than 15 days before departure: No Refund
Refunds will be processed to the original payment method and are based on the Base Price of the trek, excluding transport, insurance, and portage fees.
Voucher Refund Policy
Voucher refunds are available for all types of bookings, including promotional offers. Refund amounts will be:
- 5+ days before departure: No deduction
- Less than 5 days: No Refund
Vouchers are valid for 10 months from the date of issue. The refunded voucher amount does not include service tax paid during the original booking.
Cancellation or Change Initiated by Mountain Hike
We reserve the right to modify or cancel an event due to unforeseen circumstances such as weather conditions, natural disasters, low participation, or any force majeure events. If this occurs, you will be given the choice of:
- A replacement event of equivalent value
- A full refund (processed as a voucher valid for 6 months)
If cancellation is due to low participation, participants can choose between a cash refund or a voucher.
Changes/Cancellation After Departure
Due to Force Majeure
No refund will be provided for cancellations due to force majeure after departure.
Other Reasons
If cancellations occur for reasons other than force majeure, we will attempt to arrange alternative services or provide a refund in the form of a 6-month voucher (or cash, if preferred).
Participant Dropout During the Event
No refund will be provided if a participant voluntarily drops out of the trek. Any additional costs incurred for return arrangements will be borne by the participant.
Early Return from an Event
If a participant returns early due to force majeure or an event ending sooner than planned, additional expenses (extra nights, transport) must be covered by the participant.
Emergency Evacuation
In case of a medical emergency, we will arrange evacuation to the nearest hospital. Any costs for porters, vehicles, ambulance services, or hospitalization must be covered by the participant.
