Monal top is at an altitude of 12,000 ft., The best part of this trek offers a par anomic view of the Garhwal Himalayas Range very clearly seen, The JAONLI, GANGOTRI, JOGIN, BHARTE KHUNTA KEDARNATH, KEDAR DOME PEAKS, SUMERU PARBAT, CHAUKHAMBA, NEELKANTH, KAMET, HATHI-GHORI PARBAT, DUNAGIRI, and TRISUL, NANDAGHUGATI, MIRGTHANI DEVTOLI, MAIKTOLI. This trek is best for beginner who want to start trekking in Himalaya, and a person who want to trek with family. Once you seen the beauty of this trek you complete lost with nature.
Quick Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival at Wan Village (8,000 ft)
- Drive Distance: 280 km (Approx. 9-10 hrs)
- Route Highlights: Scenic drive via Rishikesh, Karnaprayag & Lohajung
- Stay: Guesthouse/Camping in Wan
Day 2: Wan Village → Suneli Dhar (9,300 ft)
- Trek Distance: 7 km (Approx. 5-6 hrs)
- Terrain: Gradual ascent through oak & rhododendron forests
- Stay: Camping at Suneli Dhar
Day 3: Suneli Dhar → Monal Top → Kukina Khal (12,000 ft)
- Trek Distance: 7 km (Approx. 3-4 hrs)
- Highlights: Breathtaking views from Monal Top, meadows & ridgelines
- Stay: Tents at Kukina Khal
Day 4: Kukina Khal → Wan Village
- Trek Distance: 5 km (Approx. 3-4 hrs)
- Terrain: Descend through dense forests & meadows
- Stay: Guesthouse/Camping in Wan
Day 5: Departure from Wan Village
- Drive Distance: 280 km (Approx. 9-10 hrs)
- Route Highlights: Drive back via Lohajung, Karnaprayag & Dehradun
Detailed Itinerary
Day 1- Arrival Wan Village (8000 ft., 280 KM, 9-10 Hr.)
For reaching the wan village best thing is that you have two option either you choice from Dehradun/Rishikesh side or Kathgodam side. It is equal distance. So you have not face any problem of transportation. We pick you up early in the morning at your pick up Dehradun/ Rishikesh Bus Dept/ Kathgodam (with extra charges). We reach wan village late evening. Our team meet in Wan Village they help you check-in Hotel/Lodge/Guest House. Dinner and Overnight stay in Wan Village.
Day 2- Wan Village to Suneli Dhar, (9300 ft., 7 KM, 5-6 Hr.)
After delicious breakfast we move from our first camping site SUNELI DHAR. Today trek is totally ascent but we can cover this distance with our own speed. After a few moments of rest, the climb must continue crossing a little stream to enter a mixed forest slowly thickening with oaks and rhododendrons. SUNELI DHAR is a very large grass land which itself very beautiful from here you can see Mt. Nandaghugati in very big in size and some other Mountain range like Chaukhambha, Neelkanth, Kedarnath, Kedar Dome. The best thing of this campsite in night you can see Galaxy. Dinner and Overnight stay in Tent.
Day 3- Suneli Dhar - Monal Top - Kukina Khal (12,000 ft)
Being a summit day, today we start our trek as early as possible so that we reached the Monal Top before the sunrise. Time depend on weather condition of that particular day. Today trail is totally ascent. Once we start gain the height you can see Himalayan mountain range throughout the trek, which increase adrenaline in our body. Once you reach the Summit point Monal Top you can see par anomic view of the Garhwal Himalayas range and all nearby villages in this valley very clearly. Spend some hour at the top then return to our campsite. Dinner and overnight stay at Kukina Khal.
Day 4 - Kukina Khal to Wan Village (5KM, 3-4 Hr...)
Kukina Khal is the Boarder our village Wan and our neighbor village Kanol. You can also see the Kanol village from here. After breakfast we start down the trek to our Guest house/Lodge. It take 3-4 Hr.. In evening you can explore the beautiful village. Dinner and Night stay at Wan.
Day 5 - Wan Departure
Today is last day in Wan after breakfast get ready for departure to your sweet home with the memories of this beautiful trek. Our services end here. Meet you soon next other Himalayan trek.
Inclusion / Exclusion
Inclusions:
- Accommodation (Guest house, Home stay, Camping).
- Meals while on trek (Veg. + Egg).
- Trek equipment (Sleeping bag, mattress, kitchen & dining tent, crampon, utensils, tent).
- All necessary permits and entry fees.
- First aid medical kits, stretcher, and oxygen cylinder.
- Mountaineering qualified & professional trek leader, guide, and support staff.
Exclusions:
- Any kind of personal expenses.
- Food during the transit.
- Insurance.
- Mules or porter to carry personal luggage.
- Anything not specifically mentioned under the inclusions.
Cancellation & Refund Policy
Change/Cancellation of Booking by the Participant
Process
The cancellation process is completely automated. Please log in to your Mountain Hike account and follow the instructions on your dashboard. You can choose between Instant Refund or Cash Refund as per the policy below.
Replacement of Participants
Participants can be replaced through the Mountain Hike dashboard if the booking status is “Paid” and at least 5 days remain before departure. If you face issues, email themountainhike@gmail.com with a screenshot of the error. The new participant must submit a signed undertaking form.
Note: Any Volvo/Train transport booked for the original participant will be automatically canceled and is non-transferable.
Cash Refund Policy
Cash refunds apply only for bookings made without promotional codes or vouchers. Refund amounts will be deducted as follows:
- 30+ days before departure: 5% deduction
- 15-30 days before departure: 50% deduction
- Less than 15 days before departure: No Refund
Refunds will be processed to the original payment method and are based on the Base Price of the trek, excluding transport, insurance, and portage fees.
Voucher Refund Policy
Voucher refunds are available for all types of bookings, including promotional offers. Refund amounts will be:
- 5+ days before departure: No deduction
- Less than 5 days: No Refund
Vouchers are valid for 10 months from the date of issue. The refunded voucher amount does not include service tax paid during the original booking.
Cancellation or Change Initiated by Mountain Hike
We reserve the right to modify or cancel an event due to unforeseen circumstances such as weather conditions, natural disasters, low participation, or any force majeure events. If this occurs, you will be given the choice of:
- A replacement event of equivalent value
- A full refund (processed as a voucher valid for 6 months)
If cancellation is due to low participation, participants can choose between a cash refund or a voucher.
Changes/Cancellation After Departure
Due to Force Majeure
No refund will be provided for cancellations due to force majeure after departure.
Other Reasons
If cancellations occur for reasons other than force majeure, we will attempt to arrange alternative services or provide a refund in the form of a 6-month voucher (or cash, if preferred).
Participant Dropout During the Event
No refund will be provided if a participant voluntarily drops out of the trek. Any additional costs incurred for return arrangements will be borne by the participant.
Early Return from an Event
If a participant returns early due to force majeure or an event ending sooner than planned, additional expenses (extra nights, transport) must be covered by the participant.
Emergency Evacuation
In case of a medical emergency, we will arrange evacuation to the nearest hospital. Any costs for porters, vehicles, ambulance services, or hospitalization must be covered by the participant.
