


Trek Overview
The Route of Ronti Saddle Trek passes through the trail of roopkund. Roopkund comes on the fourth day of this trek. The trek further continues via Ronti Saddle & Channia ghat to end in Sutol. One will experience the best bugyals or meadows of Bedni and Ali. the seren view of Nanda Ghunti and Trishul. Homkund - a small lake mostly under snow. From Homkund, the trek starts climbing to Ronti Saddle. We will come back to Do Dang and e it via Sutol, trekking through the deep forest cover of Lata Khopri and the villages of Sutol , following the Nandakini River.

Located at an elevation of 17388 feet, these trekking points allow the visitors to marvel at the adorned beauty of Nanda Ghungti(6309 M), Trisul I (7120 M), II (6690 M), III (6007 M) mountain peaks housed by the Himalayas.
These snow-clad peaks fight themselves to lull the guests of them since the trails you tread here are more than enough to release all the energy in you.
Trek for 80 KMs approximately has umpteen number of steep paths, hard snowflakes, twists and swirls which together give the trekker an adventurous time. The package includes food, accommodation and transportation during the trip.

Day 1: Dehradun to Wan Village
- Drive Distance: 315 km (approx. 9–10 hrs)
- Route: Scenic journey via Rishikesh, Karnaprayag & Lohajung
- Stay: Guesthouse/campsite in Wan
Day 2: Wan to Geruli Patal (12,750 ft)
- Trek Distance: 7 km (approx. 5 hrs)
- Trail: Gradual ascent through oak & rhododendron forests with scenic clearings
- Stay: Campsite at Geruli Patal
Day 3: Geruli Patal to Bhagwabasa (14,150 ft) via Bedni Bugyal & Kalu Vinayak
- Trek Distance: 11.5 km (approx. 8–9 hrs)
- Trail: Long trek through the scenic Bedni Bugyal meadows, steep climb to Kalu Vinayak, and gradual ascent to Bhagwabasa
- Stay: Campsite at Bhagwabasa
Day 4: Bhagwabasa – Roopkund – Junargali Pass to Shila Samudra (5,160 m)
- Trek Distance: 11 km (approx. 9 hrs)
- Trail: Steep climb to Roopkund and Junargali Pass, followed by a challenging descent to the remote Shila Samudra campsite
- Stay: Campsite at Shila Samudra
Day 5: Shila Samudra to Dodang (4,390 m)
- Trek Distance: 7 km (approx. 5 hrs)
- Trail: Gradual descent through rocky terrain and glacial streams leading to Dodang
- Stay: Campsite at Dodang
Day 6: Dodang – Homkund – Ronti Saddle Summit – back to Dodang (4,490 m)
- Trek Distance: 9 km (approx. 5–6 hrs)
- Trail: Steady ascent to Homkund and onward to the Ronti Saddle summit, followed by a return descent to Dodang
- Stay: Campsite at Dodang
Day 7: Dodang – Chandaniya Ghat to Lata Khopri (3,090 m)
- Trek Distance: 14 km (approx. 7 hrs)
- Trail: Long descent through rocky paths and forest sections via Chandaniya Ghat to reach Lata Khopri
- Stay: Campsite at Lata Khopri
Day 8: Lata Khopri to Sutol Village (2,210 m)
- Trek Distance: 13 km (approx. 5–6 hrs)
- Trail: Gradual descent through dense forests and remote mountain trails leading to the traditional village of Sutol
- Stay: Guesthouse/homestay in Sutol Village
Day 9: Sutol Village to Dehradun
- Drive Distance: 282 km (approx. 9–10 hrs)
- Route: Scenic drive through Ghat, Karnaprayag & Rishikesh
- Stay: Trip ends upon reaching Dehradun
Detailed Itinerary
Day 1 - Dehradun to Wan Village (Altitude: 8,200 ft, Distance: 315 km, 9–10 hrs)
Your journey begins early morning from Dehradun as you drive through the scenic landscapes of Uttarakhand. The route takes you via Rishikesh, Devprayag, Karnaprayag, and Lohajung, offering spectacular views of rivers like Alaknanda and Pindar, along with dense forests and charming mountain villages. The long but rewarding drive gradually ascends into the higher Himalayan region. By evening, you will reach Wan Village, situated at an altitude of 8,200 ft, known as the base point for several treks. Upon arrival, check into a guesthouse or campsite, enjoy a hearty dinner, and rest for the night in the peaceful mountain setting.
Day 2 - Wan to Geruli Patal (Altitude: 12,750 ft, Distance: 7 km, 5 hrs)
After breakfast, begin your trek from Wan Village towards Geruli Patal. The trail first passes through the sacred Latu Devta Temple, where locals often seek blessings before entering the higher Himalayan region. From here, descend slightly to cross the crystal-clear Neel Ganga stream, then continue with a steady ascent through dense oak, pine, and rhododendron forests. As you climb higher, the forest opens up to offer glimpses of snow-clad Himalayan peaks. By afternoon, you will reach Geruli Patal, a beautiful camping ground surrounded by lush alpine greenery and peaceful wilderness. Settle into your campsite, enjoy hot meals, and spend the night under a starlit sky amidst nature’s serenity.
Day 3 - Geruli Patal to Bhagwabasa (Altitude: 14,150 ft, Distance: 11.5 km, 8–9 hrs) via Bedni Bugyal & Kalu Vinayak
Today is one of the most scenic yet challenging days of the trek. After an early breakfast, start your journey from Geruli Patal with a gradual ascent towards the expansive alpine meadows of Bedni Bugyal, one of Asia’s largest high-altitude grasslands. The lush green meadows surrounded by snow-capped Himalayan peaks create a breathtaking setting. You will also come across the sacred Bedni Kund, a high-altitude lake that holds great spiritual significance for pilgrims. After spending some time here, continue your climb towards Kalu Vinayak, a steep ascent that tests your stamina but rewards you with mesmerizing panoramic views of Mt. Trishul and Nanda Ghunti. From Kalu Vinayak, the trail descends gradually towards Bhagwabasa, your campsite for the night. The rugged, rocky terrain here contrasts beautifully with the lush meadows you crossed earlier. Dinner and overnight stay at the Bhagwabasa campsite.
Day 4 - Bhagwabasa to Roopkund – Junargali Pass to Shila Samudra (Altitude: 5,160 m, Distance: 11 km, 9 hrs)
Today is the most adventurous and rewarding part of the trek. Start early from Bhagwabasa as you ascend towards the legendary Roopkund Lake (15,800 ft), also known as the “Mystery Lake” for the hundreds of ancient human skeletons scattered around its shores. After spending some time at this iconic high-altitude lake, continue further to cross the Junargali Pass (16,000+ ft), a challenging climb that rewards trekkers with majestic views of Trishul, Nanda Ghunti, and other towering Himalayan peaks. The descent from the pass is steep and leads you through glacial stretches and rocky terrain until you reach Shila Samudra, a stunning campsite located near the glacial basin of the Nanda Ghunti massif. Surrounded by raw wilderness and icy landscapes, Shila Samudra offers an unforgettable high-altitude camping experience. Dinner and overnight stay at the campsite.
Day 5 - Shila Samudra to Dodang (Altitude: 4,390 m, Distance: 7 km, 5 hrs)
Today’s trek from Shila Samudra to Dodang is comparatively moderate, giving you a chance to recover from the previous day’s long journey. The trail begins with a descent over rocky moraines and glacial streams, gradually opening into alpine meadows dotted with wildflowers (seasonal). As you walk, the dramatic Himalayan landscape unfolds, with snow-covered peaks towering in the background. The route also offers opportunities to spot Himalayan birds and occasional wildlife in the high-altitude pastures. By afternoon, you will reach Dodang, a picturesque camping site surrounded by ridges and valleys. Spend the evening resting, enjoying the serene atmosphere, and preparing for the next day’s trek. Dinner and overnight stay at Dodang campsite.
Day 6 - Dodang to Homkund & Ronti Saddle Summit, then back to Dodang (Altitude: 4,490 m, Distance: 9 km, 5–6 hrs)
After an early breakfast, begin your adventurous trek from Dodang towards Homkund, a sacred high-altitude glacial lake revered by locals and pilgrims. The trail gradually ascends through rocky terrain and alpine pastures, offering mesmerizing views of Nanda Ghunti and Trishul peaks. From Homkund, continue the climb towards the Ronti Saddle (approx. 5,200 m), a high mountain pass connecting the Roopkund and Nanda Ghunti regions. The ascent is challenging but incredibly rewarding, as the saddle opens up panoramic views of some of the grandest Himalayan ranges. After spending some time at the summit to soak in the scenery, retrace your steps back to Dodang. By evening, return to the campsite, enjoy a hot meal, and rest overnight.
Day 7 - Dodang to Chandaniya Ghat to Lata Khopri (Altitude: 3,090 m, Distance: 14 km, 7 hrs)
Today’s trek is a long but scenic descent from Dodang towards Chandaniya Ghat and then onward to Lata Khopri. The trail winds through rocky terrain, alpine pastures, and eventually into thick forests of oak and rhododendron. The descent offers splendid views of deep valleys, river gorges, and distant snow-covered peaks. You will cross several streams and walk along narrow ridges before reaching the serene meadows of Lata Khopri. This campsite, nestled amidst forests and open grasslands, is known for its peaceful setting and clear night skies. Arrive by evening, settle into your tents, and enjoy a restful overnight stay at Lata Khopri.
Day 8 - Lata Khopri to Sutol Village (Altitude: 2,210 m, Distance: 13 km, 5–6 hrs)
After breakfast, start your descent from Lata Khopri to Sutol Village. The trek spans approximately 13 km and takes 5–6 hours, passing through dense forests, terraced fields, and small streams. The gradual descent allows for a comfortable pace while soaking in the lush greenery, sounds of nature, and panoramic valley views. The trail also passes through remote villages, giving a glimpse of traditional Himalayan rural life.
Arrive at Sutol Village by afternoon, where you can check into a guesthouse or homestay. Spend the evening relaxing, interacting with local villagers, and enjoying the serene mountain atmosphere. Dinner and overnight stay at Sutol Village.
Day 9 - Sutol Village to Dehradun (Distance: 282 km, 9–10 hrs)
After an early breakfast, bid farewell to Sutol Village and begin the return journey to Dehradun. The drive spans approximately 282 km and takes around 9–10 hours. The route passes through picturesque Himalayan valleys, river gorges, and scenic villages including Ghat and Karnaprayag, finally reaching Rishikesh before descending to Dehradun.
This journey allows you to reflect on the entire trek, reminiscing the high-altitude lakes, alpine meadows, and Himalayan peaks experienced over the past days. Arrive in Dehradun by evening, marking the conclusion of your adventurous trek. Trip ends with unforgettable memories and photographs of the magnificent Himalayas.

- All necessary permits and entry fees.
- First aid medical kits, stretcher, and oxygen cylinder.
- Mountaineering qualified & professional trek leader, guide, and support staff.
Exclusions:
- Any kind of personal expenses.
- Food during the transit.
- Insurance.
- Mules or porter to carry personal luggage.
- Anything not specifically mentioned under the inclusions.
Cancellation & Refund Policy
Change/Cancellation of Booking by the Participant
Process
The cancellation process is completely automated. Please log in to your Mountain Hike account and follow the instructions on your dashboard. You can choose between Instant Refund or Cash Refund as per the policy below.
Replacement of Participants
Participants can be replaced through the Mountain Hike dashboard if the booking status is “Paid” and at least 5 days remain before departure. If you face issues, email themountainhike@gmail.com with a screenshot of the error. The new participant must submit a signed undertaking form.
Note: Any Volvo/Train transport booked for the original participant will be automatically canceled and is non-transferable.
Cash Refund Policy
Cash refunds apply only for bookings made without promotional codes or vouchers. Refund amounts will be deducted as follows:
- 30+ days before departure: 5% deduction
- 15-30 days before departure: 50% deduction
- Less than 15 days before departure: No Refund
Refunds will be processed to the original payment method and are based on the Base Price of the trek, excluding transport, insurance, and portage fees.
Voucher Refund Policy
Voucher refunds are available for all types of bookings, including promotional offers. Refund amounts will be:
- 5+ days before departure: No deduction
- Less than 5 days: No Refund
Vouchers are valid for 10 months from the date of issue. The refunded voucher amount does not include service tax paid during the original booking.
Cancellation or Change Initiated by Mountain Hike
We reserve the right to modify or cancel an event due to unforeseen circumstances such as weather conditions, natural disasters, low participation, or any force majeure events. If this occurs, you will be given the choice of:
- A replacement event of equivalent value
- A full refund (processed as a voucher valid for 6 months)
If cancellation is due to low participation, participants can choose between a cash refund or a voucher.
Changes/Cancellation After Departure
Due to Force Majeure
No refund will be provided for cancellations due to force majeure after departure.
Other Reasons
If cancellations occur for reasons other than force majeure, we will attempt to arrange alternative services or provide a refund in the form of a 6-month voucher (or cash, if preferred).
Participant Dropout During the Event
No refund will be provided if a participant voluntarily drops out of the trek. Any additional costs incurred for return arrangements will be borne by the participant.
Early Return from an Event
If a participant returns early due to force majeure or an event ending sooner than planned, additional expenses (extra nights, transport) must be covered by the participant.
Emergency Evacuation
In case of a medical emergency, we will arrange evacuation to the nearest hospital. Any costs for porters, vehicles, ambulance services, or hospitalization must be covered by the participant.
